News Flash

I am absolutely overwhelmed from the great support and feedback we received from all of you about our initiative. Obviously many people are caring about the topic Risk management within the IT world. Right now (Sunday 22nd February 2009 9:30 AM) I can give you the following numbers:
  • Hits on the page 40’980
  • Visitors from 30 countries (one even from Pakistan)
  • Focus on Europe and Singapore
For all of you who are not aware about the IT Policy Compliance group let me give you a quick inside. The group is dedicated to promote the development of research and information that will help IT security professionals to meet the policy and regulatory compliance goals of their organizations. I personally learned about the group some time ago from my friend Rocco Grillo who has a seat on their steering committee. Friday February 20th they issued their newest report "Managing Spend on Information Security and Audit for Better Results". You can find the report on their page at
http://www.itpolicycompliance.com.

Since last year Art Coviello the President of RSA Security (the Security Division of EMC) is sponsoring an initiative around innovation coming from the security side of the organization. Together with 9 security professionals from other enterprise companies we created the “Security for Business Innovation Council”. Since the start of this initiate we issued now the 3rd report. The newest report has the name "Driving Fast and Forward: Managing Information Security for Strategic Advantage in a Tough Economy”. Given the economic environment, this report provides timely recommendations about prioritization and creating efficiencies. The last report caught immediate attention and even Forbes reported about it. You can find all three reports and some more supporting material at the RSA page at http://www.RSA.com/securityforinnovation/

I wish you a good week and all the best.
-Andreas
